Mednecta is a professional network for medical teams (mednecta.com). The Mednecta Clipper is a Chrome browser extension that lets users save medical articles from any webpage directly into their Mednecta citation library.

2. What Data the Extension Collects

3. What Data the Extension Does NOT Collect
- Browsing history or pages you visit without opening the popup
- Health or financial information beyond what is in article metadata
- Cookies from other websites
- Any data from pages where the popup is not opened
- Analytics, telemetry, or crash reports
4. How Data Is Used
Data collected by the extension is used solely for the following purposes:
- Authentication — verifying your identity with the Mednecta platform.
- Article saving — storing the clipped article in your Mednecta library when you click Save.
- List assignment — optionally adding the article to one of your library lists.
Data is never used for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness assessments, or any purpose unrelated to the extension's core function.
5. Data Sharing
Data collected by the extension is sent only to Mednecta's own servers
(mednecta.com / minimedics-production.up.railway.app).
It is never sold, rented, or shared with any third party, advertiser, or analytics provider.
6. Data Storage & Security
- Your session token and display name are stored in
chrome.storage.local, which is sandboxed to the extension and inaccessible to websites or other extensions. - All communication between the extension and Mednecta servers is encrypted over HTTPS.
- Passwords are hashed on the server and never stored in plain text.
- Session tokens expire after 90 days and are invalidated immediately when you sign out.
7. Remote Code
The Mednecta Clipper extension does not load or execute any remote JavaScript. All extension logic runs from files bundled locally within the extension package. Network requests return JSON data only, never executable code.
8. Your Rights
- Sign out — clicking "Sign out" in the extension popup immediately clears all locally stored data (token and display name).
- Delete your data — you can delete your Mednecta account and all associated data by visiting your account settings on mednecta.com or by emailing mednecta@gmail.com.
- Access & export — your saved articles are accessible via your Mednecta library at any time.
9. Children's Privacy
Mednecta is a professional platform intended for medical professionals aged 18 and over. The extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from minors.
10. Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy changes materially, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where required by law, notify users via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
